When there is damage done to the spine such as a herniated disk that putsnpressure on a nerve in the lower back or a pinched nerve in the hip area, this causes pain, inflammation, and numbness. The Sciatic Nerve runs down the back of the leg and knee and all gives feeling to the leg all the way down to the sole of the foot. When that never is pinched by something, it causes this painful condition. It can limit movement in the leg also.
Generally, it is a temporary condition, but severe cases may need surgery.
