Meditation: A Way To Talk To The Universe Within You.
Introduction
Modernization has caused too much stress to human beings. Not only human beings, all the creations of this Universe are suffering from it, even plants and animals are facing this devastation. Polluted air, plastic in the oceans, depleted ozone and stressed human life. Even if we go to the beach or jungle to relax, we observe human waste and garbage in every corner. I think not only the territory occupied by humans but the entire Earth is affected by social activities.
In such a dirty environment and surroundings, how can we find peace and where can we find a peaceful environment? We are looking for another Earth or exploring new planets for life, but how can we find life and peace outside until we understand the one we already have. Can there be a place on this Earth which is very serene, beautiful, peaceful, unpolluted and can help reduce our stress?
Thinking of this, the great verse of Kabir (written in the Indian language Hindi) comes to my mind.
“Kasturi kundal base, mrag dhundhta ban mahi Jyo ghat ghat ram hai, duniya dekhe nahi”
Translation:
INTRODUCTION
A deer has fragrance in him, but he runs all over the forest to find it. Similarly, God is everywhere, but the world does not see Him.
- Kabir
Sometimes I think, this Universe is a part of us, or we are a part of this Universe. How big is this Universe? Is there a parallel universe? Do we have another Earth? Many questions keep buzzing in my mind.
I have learned that the same Universe which is outside also exists within us. This theory was further justified when I read the Gita where Krishna, the Hindu God, opened his mouth and his mother saw the entire Universe in his mouth. It made me believe that instead of exploring the external world, we should explore the inner self.
The entire world exists within us and we can easily explore it just by meditating. The best thing about
Meditation is that it is easy to practice. You don't need anything or expensive material to perform Meditation. The only thing you need to perform Meditation is time. It will help if you have a quiet and safe place in your home. Just sit quietly and concentrate on your breathing, your goals and most importantly yourself.
